16 Apr RMHC Latvia and Rimi launch annual campaign for children in Latvian regions
In order to provide medical consultations to children closer to home across Latvia, Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija (RMHC Latvija) with the support of Rimi Latvia is launching its annual fundraising campaign on 11 April. The aim of the campaign is to provide children’s Care Mobile visits for children in all regions of Latvia, making it easier for families with children to get to the doctor.
During the campaign, for nearly two months until the beginning of June, everyone will be able to donate in boxes placed at Rimi store checkouts, thus helping the children’s Care Mobile to bring specialists from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital (BKUS) and other medical institutions closer to home and to diagnose possible diseases in time. The 2023 campaign raised EUR 27 000 in Rimi stores, enabling the support of 670 young patients across Latvia closer to their homes and enabling them to receive free, high-quality and timely consultations from medical specialists.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities is celebrating its 50th anniversary worldwide this year, so we are delighted to be able to partner with Rimi again this year to fulfil our mission of providing free medical care to children across Latvia. There are still many children in the regions whose families, for various reasons, are unable to get to specialists in Riga for the medical consultations they need. We can see that over these many years an acute need for RMHC Latvia’s services has crystallised, and the demand is growing year by year. Every donation allows RMHC Latvija to be one step closer to the little ones and to provide much-needed consultations so that they can grow up healthier and happier,” says Guna Caune, Executive Director of RMHC Latvija.
