Charity campaign invites to donate for free doctor’s consultations to 4300 children in remote regions

To help 4300 children in Latvia’s remote regions receive free doctor’s consultations close to their home, a charity campaign McHappy Day, organized by McDonald’s, will take place in November. All donations will go towards the work of a Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia program Care Mobile that travels to remote regions of Latvia and provides free doctor consultations to children up to 18 years. This year’s campaign will be accompanied with a special symbol – unique toy, that McDonald’s will gift to anyone who will donate 9,99 euros.

“Easy access to medical specialists’ consultations is an integral part of caring for health. For families who live in remote regions of Latvia, the access to children doctors’ consultations often is a serious challenge that can be solved with support of mobile medical services. “McDonald’s” has been supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia and the program children’s Care Mobile for already 15 years to make families’ access to medical specialists easier and more convenient and to this day through all these years we have raised donations more than 900 000 EUR. It is our responsibility to help people and the society in which we live in, and we hope that this year will be no exception and that together we will be able to raise donations to help and provide doctor’s consultations to 4300 children,” says Vladimir Janevski, the Managing Director of McDonald’s Baltics.

“Access to highly qualified medical specialists is of vital importance and only prompt specialist consultations allow various medical problems to be diagnosed and treated early on. Together with highly qualified medical professionals children’s Care Mobile regularly travels all over Latvia to provide free medical consultations in more than 40 different locations to help every year up to 4300 children receive so needed medical consultation. For the past 13 years with the help of society and partners we have provided in total more than 57 000 doctor consultations, including consultations of ophthalmologist, optometrists, otolaryngologists, pediatric allergologists, pediatric neurologist, physical and rehabilitation therapists, pediatric endocrinologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, speech therapist, dermatologist un pediatric surgeon/orthopedist,” explains Guna Caune, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia (RMHC Latvia), which oversees the children’s Care Mobile program.

This year a unique toy will be gifted to anyone who will donate 9,99 euros at McDonald’s, using the self-ordering kiosks or at cash register in-store or McDrive, with cash or card.
