Almost 27 000 euros have been donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija (RMHC Latvija) and Rimi Latvia in a joint fundraising campaign to provide medical consultations for children in Latvia’s rural areas. This donation will enable the Children’s Care Mobile to make multiple trips, providing much-needed support to more than 670 young patients across Latvia closer to their homes and enabling them to receive free, high-quality and timely medical specialist consultations.
Guna Caune, Executive Director of RMHC Latvija: “Our main mission is to provide free medical care to children all over Latvia. There are many children in the regions of Latvia whose families, for various reasons, cannot travel to Riga to see specialists for medical consultations. That is why the Children’s Mobile Health Centre goes to children. The need for our services has crystallised over many years and the demand is on the rise. Peer support is therefore very important in developing and providing community-based services closer to where children live. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supports our organisation with donations so that together we can take care of children’s health in Latvia.”
“Caring for Latvia’s children is one of the biggest and most important tasks for all of us. Rimi customers have been supporting various charity campaigns for a long time, making it possible to help those who need it so much. We are pleased and delighted with the response of our customers and hope that this time, as well, we will be able to work together to help and provide timely healthcare for children in Latvia,” says Inga Bite, PR Manager at Rimi Latvia.
The funds raised will be an important support for the Children’s Care Mobileto bring doctors from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital to the children to provide free much-needed medical consultations. The donated funds will also help to cover the salaries of specialists, fuel and maintenance costs of the Care Mobile.
